Now Available: 75-Minute Therapy Sessions at FundaTalk
Platform Features
FundaTalk now offers 75-minute therapy sessions, giving you more flexibility if you need extra time to talk things through or would like to explore couples counseling.
Q: How do I choose the right session length?
25 Minutes
A 25-minute session is primarily designed for online consultations with a psychiatrist.
If you’d like to better understand your current mental and emotional well-being from a medical perspective, a psychiatric consultation may be a good place to start. For example, if you:
- Have recently been experiencing insomnia, anxiety, or persistent low mood
- Are already receiving treatment and would like ongoing follow-up or guidance about medication
- Are unsure whether your current symptoms may require medical attention
You can start by speaking with a psychiatrist to better understand your situation and discuss possible next steps.
50 Minutes
A 50-minute session is the standard length for therapy sessions at FundaTalk and is also a common choice for people trying therapy for the first time.
A wide range of topics can be explored, including:
- Adjusting to life abroad and the stress that comes with it
- Romantic relationships and relationship challenges
- Workplace stress and interpersonal relationships
- Family-of-origin experiences
- Social anxiety
- Self-doubt and self-worth
- Perfectionism
- Low mood or frequent anxiety
- Major life decisions and self-exploration
These are all common topics people bring to counseling.
If this is your first time seeing a therapist, or you’re not sure how much time you’ll need, 50 minutes is a great place to start.
During your first session, you and your therapist will usually spend some time getting to know each other, understanding what brings you to therapy, and discussing what you hope to get out of the process.
75 Minutes
A 75-minute online therapy session gives you more time and space to explore things at a comfortable pace.
Some concerns involve multiple layers of your life and may take more time to unpack. For example, one situation might involve your family background, work, romantic relationship, or relationship with your children, making it difficult to fully explore everything within a shorter session.
If you already know you have a lot you’d like to talk about, or if you’ve found 50-minute sessions a little rushed in the past, a 75-minute session may be a better fit.
Some therapists also offer couples counseling or marriage counseling in 75-minute sessions. Please check each therapist’s profile for details about the services they provide.
Q: Does every professional offer 25-, 50-, and 75-minute sessions?
Not necessarily.
Available services and session lengths vary by provider. Please check the provider’s profile to see which appointment options are currently available.
Q: How Much Do Different Session Lengths Cost?
Fees vary depending on the length of the session.
Please refer to the psychiatrist’s or therapist’s booking page for the most up-to-date pricing.
